Moxing Ridge (Moxingling), the 382 m summit
The top of Baiyun Mountain — 382 m, the highest of its thirty-odd peaks — fenced off as a ¥5 park-within-the-park at the north end of the summit road. This is the one place on the mountain where the whole city sits in one frame: the old city, the Zhujiang New Town towers and Canton Tower to the south, Baiyun New Town below you to the west. Since February 2024 a free two-stage escalator inside the gate (10:00-19:00) does the last 26 m of the climb, so the summit is a 5-minute ride from the ticket gate rather than a 15-minute stair.

No ID rule for standard entry; concessions require proof. Not published for the ¥5 ticket; the mountain's concession list (65+, under-1.3 m, students) needs ID at the gate
Mountain ticket (¥5) or cable ticket at the South Gate → summit road → D-line shuttle or walk to the Moxing Ridge gate → ¥5 at the gate → 150 m walk → escalator (free) → summit compass platform.
Sunset is the crowd and the photo; on a clear winter afternoon arrive by 16:00 to have the compass platform before the tour groups, and remember the escalator stops at 19:00.
