The five-stemmed steel tower at the south gate of the Forest Park: 246.8 m at the top, the five shafts of different heights carrying the Olympic rings, opened in 2016 as the only observation tower in the world built as five separate towers. From the decks the whole 2008 site is laid out below: the Bird's Nest and Water Cube to the south, the axis running on to the Drum Tower on a clear day, the Forest Park and Yangshan to the north. The tower has been shut since 3 November 2025 for a full renovation of its base and crown — still under way in August 2026, with no reopening date — so for now it is a landmark to look at from the park, not a ticket.
