The tomb of Zhao Mo, second king of Nanyue (died c. 122 BC), found intact under Xianggang hill in 1983 and left where it was: you climb into the painted stone chambers, then see what came out of them — the silk-threaded jade burial suit, the 'Emperor Wen' gold seal, over a thousand objects including a Persian silver box. The hardest 'only here' in Guangzhou, for ¥10.

Beat the crowds
Weekday mornings right at 9:00: the free 9:30 Chinese tour (20 people) leaves from the service desk, and the tomb chamber's first hourly slot is the emptiest. Weekends and holidays fill the tomb-chamber quota by mid-morning.

Free scheduled tour daily 9:30 in Chinese (limit 20). Online audio guide and paid human guiding sold at the '收费讲解服务台' on the ground floor of the exhibition building; languages not listed. The museum posts a Chinese-English site introduction and has an English website section.
