The big lake park 2-3 km south-east of the Panda Base: 1,198 mu of which 458 are water, rebuilt in 2018 as the largest artificial lake inside the city proper, with a bamboo-sea greenway, a 'panda world' of topiary and statues and a Hakka-culture corner — the district government's own description. It is where to walk off a panda morning or wait out the afternoon slot, not a destination on its own.
